Renee DeVesty is a Women & Teen Advocate & Activist who works on local and national projects that emphasize service in the community, support of self-esteem and self-image issues, and how the choices you make directly impact your future. She speaks openly about her journey as a Rape Survivor and how she remained silent and suffered for years because of the psychological damage of personally knowing her assailants. Renee knows firsthand how difficult it is to move beyond this type of trauma, but she never gave up and courageously fought to reclaim the power once lost over her mind, body and soul.
With over 25 years experience in the management, coordination, and promotion of corporate and non-profit events, concerts and fundraisers, Renee’s most important accomplishment to date is as Founder & Executive Producer of the Clean Slate Diaries, an annual Night of Healing & Recognition for survivors of Rape, Incest & Domestic Violence that uses Art, Music, Dance & The Spoken Word as forms of expression. She is also a proud member of the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) Speakers Bureau headquartered in Washington, DC.
Personally, Renee is an upbeat, compassionate individual. People are drawn to Renee mostly because she is reachable—you immediately feel the love and light that surrounds her, and want to know more about her. Renee is passionate about community service, and her commitment to helping others is at the forefront of everything she does. There is an undeniable easiness and comfort with Renee that makes you feel like you have known her for years.

I love what was written above about Renee. It is the absolute truth, she is truly a woman of compassion who cares deeply for every person she meets in her life. Upon meeting her it’s easy to discern that she is relatable and immediately makes you feel at ease. She is breath of fresh air and seems to somehow generate light from within her. It’s as if she is the sun and millions of beams of bright shining lights exuberate from her both internally & externally. You not only can see the light she illuminates in her actions you can also hear and feel them in her words. If you close your eyes and listen to her speaking you will immediately feel her compassion and genuine sincerity for you and your life. I know that I am honored to have her in my life and blessed to have her as a friend.
