Renee, These photos are simply beautiful. the coupling of the images and quotes is moving and awe-inspiring and soothing, all at the same time. I definitely want to order them as cards! thanks for sharing them with the world, and for the reminder that it is the little things that matter!

I have just re-read this post and I think that it hits the nail on the head for what us survivors have to go through...In particular, the part on relationship problems REALLY hits home for me because that is exactly what I struggle with as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse....I do not trust very many people, no matter how long that I have known them-(My lack of trust have cost me what could have been an EXTREMELY healthy relationship with a female former High School classmate because of both my anger issues, lack of social skills and lack of trust of others.....Thanks Renee for letting others know how this crime effects us survivors in many ways.....I don't know if you caught it, but two of the gentlemen from the Male Survivors group from Vera House spoke on George Kilpatrick's radio show Sunday Morning on AM-570 WSYR and I think they are heroes for telling it like it is for us...

I think that more of these types of things will come out and even though this is horrible, I think this may bring this subject into the light of the day and more people will pay attention to it...

Thanks,Renee for bringing this to light, because it has been covered up for so long. I am not only disappointed in the conduct of Former Head Coach Joe Paterno and the Penn State "Community", but also the NCAA in general, not to punish Penn State for this to continue. I feel that if Penn State was given the "Death penalty" for allowing this to go on for so long, where they would NOT be allowed at field a football team for a predetermined period of time, this would send a message to the other NCAA sanctioned colleges that this behavior would not be tolerated. The NCAA comes down on sports programs for recruiting violations and/or throwing games and/or gambling. In my opinion, being a male sexual abuse survivor, what happened at Penn State is 100 times more heinous than anything else. I know first hand the damage this does to a persons self esteem and how it hampers one's trust in others people. I pray that Syracuse university and their coaches -(Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim, Football Coach Doug Marrone, Lacrosse coach Roy Desko, Etc..) will disallow this behavior..Coach Marrone was correct in saying that this has nothing to do with football, but with the victims of this man and the aftermath of the abuse effects..

Thank you Renee, for speaking up about this. We see things like this in the media, and think " oh there goes another scandal", and then forget about it. Our society has become numb to the horrors of such crimes, and it just seems easier to look the other way. The whole story has been focusing on shock of "how this could have happened by such a great man", when the fact is that so many children's lifes have been forever wounded. That is where the focus should be. All of these coaches must be publicly held accountable, and the victims must be honored in some way. We have to find a way to help the victims see that they are not the criminals, that they deserve to be honored and gently healed.
